It has been said that a colored pencil is: a pencil, a brush, and a tube of paint all in one. The technique of creating art in colored pencil involves layering colors on a support to create shapes, designs, perspective, and atmosphere, then often burnishing those layers to a polished look, which can resemble glass or shiny objects.
These methods of using colored pencils convert a drawing into a painting, with both a soft and subtle or a brilliant and bold look. Working with colored pencils is a fascinating process that has captured my interest and love.
